Stop using blueprints for your copy!

Stop using blueprints for your copy!

Templates & blueprints make content creation faster - but sadly not better. Find out what you should do instead...

Maybe you know the feeling: You’re reading posts on social media and they are all, kind of, the same. The more posts I read, the more generic they seem to be and only very rarely do I find a post that really captures my attention because it’s different, talks about a new concept, talks about an old concept in a new way…

Lately, browsing social media has become my own kind of purgatory (because I love literature and hate to see it murdered in so many ways all over the social media world). It has made me highly selective and I regularly purge my connections, the groups I’m active in, and the people I follow.

It’s like looking at “painting by numbers” pictures that make you colour pre-drawn bits on a canvas with a pre-defined colour so that you get a pretty picture in the end.

It's draining to see so little originality...

Online reading has become boring

The same has happened in the online space. Writing has become boring and after reading three sentences, you already know which “guru blueprint” they are following.

Or you notice that they haven’t quite figured out what blueprint to follow yet and just give it a shot by looking at what others do and then try to reproduce it.

Trust me – that doesn’t work! Neither approach gets you what you want.

What you really want (coming back to the “paint by numbers” concept) is experts paying crazy money for your paintings in art galleries and auction houses.

You want them to admire you for your originality, quality, your novelty, breaking the rules, being different, and for making their lives brighter through your art.

Now, what does that have to do with copywriting?

How can you stop the scroll?

It means that you really must know how to write copy for your own business if you want people to pay crazy money for your services.

Stop the scroll
Stop the scroll with original content

It means that you need to excel at what you do. You need to have the right foundations to start drawing outside the little “paint by numbers” bits and start creating your own style where you can break conventions, rules, and set new standards.

Here’s the good news. Being an expert with X years of experience, having an awesome transformational offer, being your unique self, and knowing your ideal client (that you can’t quite connect with because your copy and content is still painting by numbers) – then you just need to fill one gap:

Know how to write to create your own style

You need to create that missing link that connects all your assets with your perfect audience (and their credit cards).

And here’s how that works:

You need to evaluate your assets, extract all the pieces that you need to transform your clients’ lives, lay them out and connect all the dots and turn them into a strategic picture that fits your unique personality.

Then all that’s left is defining your systems and processes and refine your messaging in a way that “psychologically” connects with your clients.

In other words – you must know how to write copy and use this last piece of missing knowledge to up your messaging game.

And that - is not rocket science. That is something that is totally achievable and pays off for the rest of your entrepreneurial life.
